Q

What are the 5 tips for MWMS?

A
  1. Use good body mechanics
  2. Allow gravity to assist
  3. Use short levers and place hands as close to the joint as possible
  4. Mobilize below pain threshold
  5. Never cause pain

Q

What are the 7 basic principles of MWMS?

A
  1. Techniques should never be painful
  2. One or more of the following indications should be present: loss of jt. Movement, pain with movement, pain with specific functional activities
  3. Passive accessory joint movement applied (must be pain free)
  4. Continuously monitor patients reaction to ensure no pain
  5. Should produce immediate benefits
  6. Repetitions are necessary. 3x10 recommended
  7. Must be some lasting improvements.
