Tendons- connects muscle to bone.

What are the types of muscles?
A
Skeletal: attached to bones, move skeleton VOLUNTARILY. They are striated.
Smooth: organs, INVOLUNTARY muscles. Not striated.
Cardiac: heart, INVOLUNTARY. Striated.

- muscle fibers
- connective tissue holds fibers together
- blood vessels bring materials to cells
- nerves: initiate movement for involuntary muscles.

Skeletal muscles work in PAIRS. Contract (on) on relax (off) Extender straightens joint= relax Flexor bends a joint= contract Biceps=bend elbow: FLEX! Triceps- extend elbow : RELAX!
