Biceps brachii
Origin-
Long head- supraglenoid tubercle of the scapula
Short head- coracoid process of the scapula
Insertion- radial tuberosity
Functions- flexes the forearm at the elbow joint
Supinates the forearm at the RU joint
Flexes at arm at the GH joint
Brachialis
Attachment- distal 1/2 of the anterior shaft of the humerus
Insertion- ulnar tuberosity
Functions- flexes the forearm at the elbow joint
Brachioradialis
Origin- lateral supracondylar ridge of the humerus
Insertion- styloid process of the radius
Functions- flexes the forearm at the elbow joint
Supinates the forearm at the RU joint
Pronates the forearm at the RU joint
Triceps brachii
Origin-
Long head- infraglenoid tubercle of the scapula
Lateral head- posterior shaft of the humerus
Medial head- posterior shaft of the humerus
Insertion- olecranon process of the ulna
Functions-
Extends the forearm at the elbow joint
Extends the arm at the GH joint
Pronator teres
Origin-
Humeral head- medial epicondyle of the humerus
Ulnar head- coronoid process of the ulna
Insertion- lateral radius
Functions- pronates the forearm at the RU joint
Flexes the forearm at the elbow joint
