- Caput Radiale - M. Flexor carpi radiale
EXTENSOR
- M. Extensor Carpi radiale
4. M. Extensor Carpi ulnare
FLEXORS and Pronators of radioulnar joint
M. flexor carpi radialis M. flexor carpi ulnaris (caput humerale et ulnare) M. pronator teres M. pronator quadratus
EXTENSORS and Supinators of radioulnaer joint
M. extensor carpi radialis
M. extensor carpi ulnaris
M. supinator
M. brachioradialis
FLEXORS and Pronators of radioulnar joint
M. flexor carpi radialis
O: medial epicondyle of humerus,
behind collateral lig.
I: Mc. II-III. (palmar surface of metacarpals’ bases)
A: flexes carpus
FLEXORS and Pronators of radioulnar joint
M. flexor carpi ulnaris
O: its
- Caput humerale: starts MEDIAL EPICONDYLE of humerus,
- Caput ulnare from proximal end of ulna
(humeral head is muscular, ulnar head is thinner and more tendinous)
I: accessory carpal bone
A: flexes carpus
FLEXORS and Pronators of radioulnar joint
M. Pronator Teres
O: medial epicondyle of humerus
I: craniomedial surface of radius’ upper part
A: pronates forearm (rotates arm medially)
FLEXORS and Pronators of radioulnar joint
M. Pronator Quadratus
O&I:
connects apposed surfaces of radius and ulna,
fills interosseous space (medially)
A: pronates forearm (rotates arm medially)
EXTENSORS and Supinators of radioulnaer joint
M. Extensor Carpi Radialis
O: lateral epicondylar (supracondylar) crest of humerus
I: Mc. II-III. (dorsal surface of metacarpals’ bases)
A: strongest extensor of carpal joint
EXTENSORS and Supinators of radioulnaer joint
M. Extensor Carpi Ulnaris
It’s also called m. ulnaris lateralis
O: lateral epicondyle of humerus, behind collateral ligament
I: lateral aspect of Mc. V. base, and also attaches with a
short and strong tendon to accessory carpal bone
A: supports carpus when extended to bear weight,
also helps in:
Flexion,
abduction and
lateral rotation of carpal joint
since its attachment to os carpi accessorium
EXTENSORS and Supinators of radioulnaer joint
M.Brachioradialis
It’s also called m. supinator longus.
Just about 33% of the dogs have it
O: lateral supracondylar crest, above m. ext. carpi radialis
I: distally and medially on radius
A: supinates forearm and forefoot (rotates arm laterally
EXTENSORS and Supinators of radioulnaer joint
M.Supinator
It’s also called m. supinator brevis
O: lateral epicondyle of humerus, lateral collateral ligament
I: cranial surface on proximal part of radius
A: supinates forearm and forefoot (rotates arm laterally
