Q
Types of muscles
A
- Skeletal
- Striated
- Voluntary nerve control

Q
Muscle Properties
A
- Contractibility - the ability to shorten when innervated
- Extensibility - the ability to be stretched beyond their normal resting length
- Elasticity - the ability to rebound to their resting length after being stretched
- Tonicity - a state of hardness of the muscle. When a muscle is exercised, more muscle fibers become active, and the muscle becomes firmer.

Q
Types of contractions
A
- Muscle length shortens
- Human anatomy term: Isotonic
- Kinesiological term: Concentric
- Muscle length does not change
- Human anatomy term: Isometric
- Kinesiological term: Static
- Muscle length increases
- Human anatomy term: Isometric
- Kinesiological term: Eccentric
