What happened after WW2?

  1. Some troops from other colonies settled in the UK
  2. Shortage of labour workers in factories.
  3. The UK required workers and so advertised job opportunities in the West Indies. Led to Empire Windrush in 1948 - 50.

  1. Hundreds of men delivered to Tillbury, London on 22 June 1948 from the West Indies.
  2. This was to answer the labour shortage in the UK after the war.
  3. This was the start of racial tensions in some areas
