How to perform McMurray
Knee flex, rotate knee medically and move into extension. Positive if pt experiences clicking, locking, pain in the knee

15 y/o basketball player w/ history of multiple ankle sprains; feels ankle rolls inward more easily, ankle pain
How to perform Talar Tilt
Pt sitting with legs dangling, bring foot to flexing and move foot into inversion and eversion

52 y/o man who constantly uses a soldering iron throughout the day; feels numbness, tingling, weakness in the dominant hand
How to perform Tinel’s sign
Tapping over the median nerve. If positive, elicits numbness and tingling
Lachman Test
Anterior cruciate ligament tear
18 y/o soccer player experiences sudden knee pain and swelling after changing direction rapidly, heard a “popping” noise, has reduced ROM
How to perform Lachman test
Move tibia anterior to femur
Positive if painful and no solid endpoint when forcing movement

Positive if pain in leg/buttock/back when leg is passively flexed and the knee is extended

How to perform Spurling Test
Positive when pain provoked by lateral bending of neck to affected side and axial compression

14 y/o baseball pitcher complaining of pain and swelling on his throwing arm, clicking sound heard when arm is raised, pain triggered by raising or lowering arm
How to perform Drop Arm Test
Standing or sitting, bring affect arm to 90 degrees and release. Positive it pt is unable to keep arm up.
