A
- ability to respond to internal/external stimuli
- anything different to the organism
- must respond to stimuli or they will die
- eg: change in temp, pressure, sound, or change in chemical composition in their environment.

A
- growth: the process of getting bigger, size increase
- development: maturation process, getting older

A
- asexual: cells replace dead & damaged cells, e.g. skin
- sexual: 2 cells from different organisms come together to create a new organism (share DNA)

A
- internal: gas exchange, blood pumping, digestion, heart beating
- external: physical movement of the body

Self-regulating Metabolism
A
- metabolism: the sum of all chemical reactions in the body, e.g., metabolizing food, creating hormones
- homeostasis: the body’s ability to stay neutral

Ability to Adapt to the Environment
A
- all life is able to adapt to its environment (there is a range to which an organism can adapt)
- adaption can be structured, physiological, behavioral, or a combination of all these things.
