Categorical Imperative: Duty based ethics
Means a particular belief/action should be universal
Don’t D.R.O.P. Your Ethical Responsibilities
3 D’s, 3 R’s, 3 O’s, 3 P’s
The 3 D’s- Discern, Declare, Do
Recognize the truth, speak the truth, act on the truth
The 3 R’s- Rules, Results, Realities
Guidance, bottom line or consequences, importance of the situation or the circumstance
The 3 O’s- Owning, Ordering, Oughting
Recognizing obligation, responsibility & duty, putting principles in the right order, understanding what you should (ought) to every day
The 3 P’s- Principle, Purpose, People
Truth telling & honor, mission accomplishment, the people who work for you, with you and over you

Ethical Relativism Is:
Making decisions based on personal beliefs vs. rules/regulations.
Loyalty Syndrome Is:
Making decisions based on respect or loyalty to a person, unit or organization vs rules/regulations
Worry Over Image Is:
Making decisions based on how the decision will impact reputation with subordinates, peers, supervisors etc vs. rules/regulations
Drive for Success Is:
Making decisions based on winning at all cost vs. rules/regulations
