Movement Analysis Flashcards
Three planes of movement
Sagittal transverse and frontal
Sagittal plane of movement
The sagittal plane runs through the body and splits vertically into right and left movements and displaying are up and down of flexion and extension it creates the like action when running
Transverse plane of movement
The transverse plane runs through the body splitting the top and bottom (superior or inferior) the movement is rotation this creates the action went bowling in cricket
Frontal plane of movement
The frontal plane cuts through the body splitting front and back (Anterior or posterior) the movement sort adduction and abduction creates the leg and hip action when doing star jumps
What are the three types of lever systems
First class = neck
second class = ankle
Third class = elbow
What are the three axes of rotation
Frontal, transverse and longitudinal
Frontal axis of rotation
runs from the front to the back of the body. When are gymnast cart wheels rotation around frontal axis
Transverse axis of rotation
Run side to side somersaults rotation through transverse axis
Longitudinal axis of rotation
Runs from top to bottom Pero wet is it rotation around the longitudinal axis
What is mechanical advantage
Leavers it turned a small amount of force into a bigger force. Load divided by effort
First class lever
Load for fulcrum/pivot Effort down
Example next joint one heading football
Second-class lever
Effort up load down pivot
Example ankle point shoes in ballet
Third class lever
Slowed down effort up pivot
Example elbow doing a bicep curl
What is the fulcrum/pivot
The pivot is the point of movement usually at the centre of a joint
What is the load
The bodies own weight/peace of supporting equipment
