all vehicle accidents in which no personal bodily injury resulted directly from the accident.
define motor vehicle accident
any incident in which a city vehicle, or private vehicle specifically authorized for city business, comes in contact with another vehicle, person, object, or animal, which results in death, personal injury, or property damage in excess of $500.

What should be requested on major accidents?
EMS should be requested for injured parties, and the vehicle shall remain on scene until fire and police investigators have arrived.
who shall determine the priority for continuing on the response or remaining at the accident scene in a minor vehicle accident?
The member in charge of the vehicle shall evaluate the situation to determine if the vehicle should proceed or remain at the scene.
which members of HFD shall make up the accident review board?
the shift commander and 2 district chiefs.

what is the punishment for a member’s first preventable accident?
members will attend the 16 hour national academy for professional drivers program through the vjtf, and will result in the member receiving:
- form 42 and form 34, or 1 day suspension if damage is less than $5,000
- 1-3 day suspension for damage $5001-$7000
- 3-5 day suspension for damage $7001-$9000
- 5-9 day suspension for damage over $9000
what is the disciplinary action for a second preventable accident within a 12 month period?
Attend the 16 hour national academy for professional drivers at the vjtf and:
- 1-3 day suspension for damage less than $5000
- 3-5 day suspension for damage $5001-$7000
- 5-9 day suspension for damage $7001-$9000
- if damage is over $9000 the accident hearing officer shall make a recommendation for length of suspension to the fire chief or designee
what is the punishment for a 3rd preventable accident in a 18 month period.
a recommendation for suspension without pay and may include a recommendation to the fire chief that the member’s driving privileges be suspended.
what is the punishment for a fourth preventable accident?
a temporary suspension up to an indefinite suspension.
