What are the 3 levels of severity that we use to describe a lesion?
Mild.
Moderate.
Severe.
When do peracute symptoms arise?
Instantaneously.
What is the timeframe for acute symptoms?
Seconds after injury to around 10 days.
What is the timeframe for subacute symptoms?
Around 10 days.
What is the timeframe for chronic symptoms?
Over 10 days.
What is a focal lesion?
When there is one lesion on the organ.
What is a multifocal lesion?
When there are mutliple small lesions on the organ.
What is a locally extensive lesion?
When a large area of tissue on the organ looks abnormal.
What is a diffuse lesion?
Where all the tissue on an organ is abnormal.
What are the 7 classes of exudate?
Serous.
Serohemorrhagic.
Catarrhal/Mucoid.
Fibrinous.
Purulent/Suppurative.
Granulomatous.
Lymphoplasmacytic.
What suffix denotes inflammation?
Itis or titis.
Colon = Col itis.
What should we include when we write down a morphological diagnosis?
The severity.
The duration.
The distribution.
The exudate.
The tissue-itis.
