Q

What five steps are taken in the formation of monoclonal antibodies?

A
  1. antigen is injected into mouse
  2. mouse naturally produces lymphicytes which produce antibodies specific to antigen
  3. spleen cells which produce lymphocytes removed
  4. spleen cells are fused w/myeloma cells to form hybridoma cells which divide
  5. hybridoma cells divide and produce millions of monoclonal antibodies specific to antigen
