what makes up the stem

what are the xylem and phloem tubes made of
vascular tissue
what do xylem tubes do
carries water and minerals up from the roots, to the leaves
what do phloem tubes do
carries sugars like glucose made in the leaves, down to the roots
what happens when the guard cells are open?
good gas exchange, but moisture is lost
what happens when the guard cells are closed?
keeps the moisture, but there is no gas exchange

thin with high surface area which absorbs water and minerals from soils

what do leaf palisade cells do
they contain chloroplasts, which perform photosynthesis
