is a crucial part of organization behavior.
Environment
refers to organization culture, its structure and its resources.
Internal environment
includes various political, social, economic, cultural and technological factors
External environment
is conformance to the norms and expectation of a profession, organization and role.
professionalism
is a form of etiquette in the workplace that is linked primarily to respectful and courteous conduct.
professional behavior
The Basic characteristics of Professionalism:
- show up at work everyday and on time
- maintain good hygiene
- dress appropriately
- follow the rules
- understand that your employers expect “full day’s work for a full day’s pay”
Maintain a reasonable professional appearance and level of personal hygiene.
Appearance, Grooming, and Hygiene
The how-know, talent and fundamental knowledge required of a role.
Competence
Actively contributing to conversation, decision making, strategy and work in line with the expectations of your role.
Engagement
Adherence to the social norms of a culture, society and organization. Example, shaking hands with a customer.
Social Norms
Taking an appropriate level of care in executing your duties. Example. An accountant who double checks all works such that they rarely make big mistakes.
Diligence
Reasonable use of time.
Time management
Reasonable use of resources.
Resource management
Producing a reasonable amount of output in an hour of work.
Productivity
The ability to continue to be productive without direction.
Self direction
Following direction, instruction and rules.
Conformance
Communicating anything you feel is important as opposed to keeping things secret.
Candor
The ability to endure stress, criticism and office politics without loss of motivation, engagement or productivity.
Personal Resilience
Engaging customers in a friendly and flexible way such that they are unlikely to become difficult.
Respect for the customer
Cooperating and Building up others.
Teamwork
An earnest desire for your organization to succeed.

Telling the truth even if it is inconvenient
