Travel kit, what is included in clean items?
- Sealed packages of sterile, disposable single-use needles- at least 20 needles, at least twenty 1 inch and twenty 1,5 inch needles.
- Clean paper towel (such as tray) - it’s own ziplock plastic bag or container
- Clean, dry cotton balls - at least 20, packed in their own ziplock plastic bag
- 5 commercially sealed individual 2x2 inch gauze pads
- One pair of gloves - it’s own plastic ziplock bag
- 70% isopropyl alcohol prep pads - at least 30
What are included in Non-clean items?
- A small paper bag with a plastic liner to receive trash ( used cotton balls) , marked in ink as “Waste”, “Trash”.
- A small red, commercial sharps container. This container must be impervious, unbreakable, clearly marked “Contaminated” and bear the official biohazard symbol.

Travel kit items not in bags?
- Hemostat or tweezers
- Alcohol based hand sanitizers
Preparing the kit ?
- The hard sided container must be washed inside and out in hot, soapy water and dried with a clean paper towel. Ziplock bags should be fresh from the package and free of rips and holes.
- Hands should be washed before assembling the kit
- Paper toweling should be taken directly from it’s package and placed in a small ziplock plastic bag to ensure continued cleanliness.
- Cotton balls should be taken directly from the stock bag and placed in a small plastic bag or other container.
- Pre-packaged alcohol swabs should be taken directly from their original box and placed in the kit.
- Disposable needles should be placed into the travel kit directly from the original box.
Liquid soap or bar soap?
Liquid soap is recommended rather than bar soap, which may become contaminated.
If a sheet or table paper is used as a barrier on the treatment chairs…?
These need to be changed for each new patient.
How to setting up a clean field ? On the treatment table?
Select a clean, dry, flat surface to serve as the settings for the clean field. Note: the selected location CANNOT be the treatment table. ( instrument tray, instrument cart, table in a central location os appropriate)

When the patient is sitting up, the patient head and neck supported, legs and arms not crossed, patient is comfortably seated.
Potential complications - Faints ?
