A

Because the intended therapeutic goal of chemotherapy for cancer is apoptosis, and because gua sha’s up-regulation of HO-1is anti-apoptotic, it’s recommended to avoid applying gua sha (or cupping) for 48 hours before and 24 hours after chemotherapy.
