May start days before the Seizure happens

Stage where it begins before seizure “Warning Sign”
Common in focal seizures and TCS
Aura Stage
Warning Signs of Aura Stage
- Altered vision
- Hearing anxiety
- Dizziness
- Inability to speak
- Sudden weird smell
- Déjà vu
It is the seizure phase
Last 1-3 mins (> 5 mins for status epilepticus)
May lead to permanent brain damage or death
Ictus Stage
DOC for Ictus stage
intramuscular Midazolam
IV lorazepam
IV diazepam
After seizure stage

Diagnosis for Epilepsy
Examination
EEG: Electroencephalogram (most used for epilepsy)
MRI: Magnetic resonance imaging (temporal lobe)
CT-Scan
PET-Scan
Laboratory Assessment for epilepsy
Blood chemistry
* Check for signs of infectious disease
* Monitor Liver and kidney function
* Monitor Glucose level
CLINICAL MANAGEMENT for Epilepsy
Brain Surgery ( Resection)
Removal or alteration of the area of the brain that causes seizure activity
Vagus nerve stimulation
Adjunct treatment for refractory partial seizure Invasive procedure
Gives electric stimulation that runs through the neck to prevent seizures
