6
Q

True or False?
The 0.8 is a stronger correlation than 0.5.

A

True, the closer the value is to 1 or -1 the stronger the correlation

15
Q

What does it mean if your variables make a “blob” on a scatterplot

16
Q

How can we make a correlation meaningful?

A

Using r²

17
Q

What does r² do?

A

When you square r it gives you a variability percent.
Ex: squaring 0.74 gives you 55%
55% of the reason people differ in one variable is because they differ in another variable

18
Q

True or False?
Correlation means causation.

A

False, correlation DOES NOT mean causation.

19
Q

What is magnitude?

A

How close together the points are/ how strong the correlation is.

20
Q

What is direction?

A

Direction is if the graph is positive (going up to the right) or negative (going down to the right)
