Q

Upper Thoracic Posterior

A

SCP - spinous process

CP - guarded thumb

ST - behind or beside the dog

STAB - hand under the thorax

LOC - PA with a 45 degree caudal to cranial component. As you move toward T10 the angle will increase slightly so as your arm swings when you get to T11 you are at 90 degrees

Q

Upper thoracic Posterior Right or Left

A

SCP - spinous process on the side of the laterality. Tip is cartilgenous and can be damaged from excessive force

CP - protected thumb with the adjusting arm in the LOC

ST - behind or beside the dog on the side of laterality

STAB - arm or hand under the sternum, giving lateral and ventral support to the rib cage. Allow the cervical region of the dog to drop in slight flexion. If assistant lifts sternum to allow scapula to drop stabilize the vertebrae inferior to the adjusted segment

LOC - LM

Q

Transitional Thoracic Posterior (R or L) Transverse process contact

A

SCP - Transverse process on the side opposite the laterality

CP - guarded thumb

ST - behind or beside the dog in a position that allows the forearm to be in the LOC. If beside the dog adjuster is on side of spinous rotation

STAB - arm under the ribs of the segment being adjusted

LOC - PA

SPR adjust on L TP

Q

Lower Thoracic or Lumbar Posterior

A

SCP - Bilateral transverse (thoracic) or mammillary (lumbar) processes

CP - The thumb and knuckle of the adjusting hand bridging the spinous process - V trough

ST - behind or beside the dog that allows the adjusting arm to be in the line of correction

STAB - arm under the rib cage or abdomen of the dog

LOC - PA

18
Q

Lower Thoracic or Lumbar Posterior Right or Left

A

SCP: Transverse (thoracic) or mammillary (lumbar) process on the side opposite the laterality

CP: guarded thumb

ST: behind or beside the dog in a position that allows the forearm to be in the LOC

STAB: Arm under the rib cage or abdomen of the dog

LOC: PA

19
Q

Anterior Rib

A

SCP: rib at the sternocostal border

CP: tips of the fingers

ST: beside or behind the dog

anterior rib

21
Q

Posterior Cranial Rib

A

SCP: dorsal aspect of the rib just off of midline

CP: guarded thumb and forefinger of superior hand, point thumb the way that the rib needs to move

ST: opposite side of laterality, facing the rear of the dog

STAB: contact the ventral chest

LOC: PA with slight SI roll

22
Q

Posterior Caudal Rib

A

SCP: dorsal aspect of the rib just off midline

CP: guarded thumb and forefinger of inferior hand, point thumb the way that the rib needs to move

ST: opposite side of laterality, facing the front of the dog

STAB: contact the ventral chest

LOC: PA with slight IS roll

23
Q

Sternal Technique

A

SCP: sternum. may be the whole sternum or one of the 8 individual sternabrae

CP: fingers grab sternum

ST: behind or on the opposite side as laterality

STAB: contact the dorsal rib cage

LOC: LM pull

24
Q

Manubrium technique

A

SCP: manubrium

CP: fingers

ST: behind or beside the dog on the side of the laterality. have an assistant hold dogs head

STAB: contact the point of the shoulder opposite the laterality

LOC: LM

25
Q
