Models of Communication
4 Types of Communication Model
- Shannon-Weaver Model
- Linear Model of Communication
- Transactional Model of Communication
- Interactive Model of Communication
Known as the mother of all communication models. It depicts communication as a linear or one-way process consisting of five elements: a source, a transmitter, a channel, a receiver, and a destination
Shannon-Weaver Model
A simple one-way communication model. The message flows in a straight line from the sender to the receiver. There is no concept of feedback. The only task that a receiver does is to receive the message
Linear Model of Communication
Both the sender and the receiver are communicators and both play important roles in communication. This model relates communication with social reality, cultural up-bringing, and relational context
Transactional Model of Communication
It is a two-wag communication model but is mostly used for new media like the internet
