Models Flashcards
Three types
Learning/behavioral; conditioning, modeling, emotion-regulation
Cognitive; Beck’s cognitive model, young’s maladaptive schema’s
Psychodynamic; Menatlization and object relations
Beck’s cognitive model
Schema in your head (might be unaware). Situation like a noise triggers this schema and creates the thought. So based on the schema you have you respond
Schema theory Young
Basic needs: eg safety, autonomy and boundaries
IF you don’t have that you create maladaptive schema’s that fit the environment. 18 or so schema’s of coping in the theory. (mistrust, hypercritical etc). you either submit, avoid or overcompensate to cope with schema
Can also be a mode (vulnerable child, angry child, etc)
Object-relations
