  • ppts have more doubts
  • 1 ppts made notes and asked himself number of questions about legitimacy of research
  • another ppt questioned his own judgement and thought study was ‘heartless’
  • obedience didn’t drop that much
  • 48% gave full 450v compared to 65% in original research
  • this was lower level of obedience, but Milgram didn’t think it was significant difference

what was concluded from this exp?

A
  • idea of having a legitimate setting does seem to be backed by evidence
    however, it’s barely significant
  • ppts questioned the credentials of company on arrival (claims made during debrief), but still obeyed
  • Milgram gave example that people deposit money in prestigious looking backs and seeing ones, so people will obey exps regardless of where lab is
