Secular: What is real is the empirical world only - what can be observed with the senses
Religious: The supersensory world is real
*God is the source of invisible values
*Purpose is to get closer to God
*Goal is to turn the invisible visible: turn divine laws into a theocratic state
*Don’t want to get rid of technology but infuse it with a moral framework
