- range of symptoms from vasomotor/headaches/insomnia/mood changes to asymptomatic
- increased dryness of the vaginal mucosa
- increase or decrease in sexual desire

- slow decline in testosterone
- decrease in sex drive
- decreased sperm count/increased sperm mutations
- changes in erections
changes in intelligence (crystallized vs fluid)
crystallized= increased until late 50s (stored knowledge/experience) fluid= decreased (quickness/new learning)
