Live attenuated vaccines:
MMR, Sabine polio, VZV, yellow fever, small pox, intranasal influenza
What is the DNA structure of most DNA viruses? What are the exceptions?
double stranded and linear
Exceptions:
- parvovirus (ssDNA)
- papilloma, polyoma, hepadna(circular)
When should live virus vaccines be considered for HIV positive pts?
- rotavirus for all infants with HIV
- if CD4 >200, can give MMR, varicella
- not recommend: intranasal flu, herpes zoster
