Microanatomy Flashcards
Cells of salivary glands - staining
mucous ancinus - light, nucli pushed outwards due to mucous granules
Serous ancinus- dark - zymogen granules - amylaze
-both have myopethlial cells around outside
Striated ducts - lots of mitochonidra - active transport of Hco3- outside (pumps K+ and HCO3- outside, and gets NA, CL- inside)
Function of saliva
Lubrication - glycoproteins
Proteiction - bicarb - bacteria, acidic vomit
-lysozymes, lactoferri, immunoglob A
DIgestion - amylaze, lipase (worsk in stomach) , kallikrein (increase blood supply by cleaving protein involed in this)
Control of salivary secretion
PSNS - increase secretion, increase blood vessles, myoepethilail cells contract
ANS - small, conc salvia, decrease blood vessel size
Chief cells vs parietal cells - microscope
chief - zymogen granules (pepsinogen) , parietal- intracellular cancliucli

what cells line the oesophagus
mesothelial cells
what does outer longitduinal llok like?
dots, and inner ciruclar are lines
what is gastric gland folding
mucosa
what do parietal cells look likee
eggs, light staining
what do chief cells look like?
dark staining - zymogen gradunels
