EXTRICATION SECTOR
MFD SOP 203.03
The Extrication Sector is Responsible for the
EXTRICATION and DELIVERY of patients to the
treatment area.
Determine where treatment will take place.
Wear a SECTOR VEST.
Supervise Extrication Teams.
Coordinate with Triage, and Treatment.
Advise Command when “ALL CLEAR” in Extrication Sector.
Split into North/South Sectors if large MVA, or if 2 or more vehicles requires extrication teams.
Use the S. T.A.R. T. Triage system
Advise Command when Extrication Crews become
available for reassignment.
When victims require forcible extrication, ladder
companies should be assigned.

LEVELS OF EVACUATION
Site Level - small number, less than 1 hour
Intermediate Level - Fewer than 100 persons,
coordinate with PD; coordinate with media-PIO.
Large-Scale - Substantial HAZ-MAT, Etc.
Face to Face Notifications
Be in uniform, and wear your helmet.
State-There is an Emergency, you are in danger.
Leave Immediately. Take you purse/wallet; house
and car keys with you. Also, Take your money
medications, and family pet.

REMEMBER
All Roof Ventilation Sector personnel shall wear full PPE when operating above fire. SCBA with face pieces connected will be worn at all times while operating above fire.
RESCUE SECTOR

Commonly asked Questions on IRIC
One member of IRIC must be tracking interior crews.
The other may take on other roles such as pump operator with full PPE nearby.
IRIC can be waived when immediate action can save life, or fire is in incipient stage and could be handled by an extinguisher.
RESCUE SECTOR Shall be Established at:
Offensive Fire Operations (beyond incipient stage)
Haz-Mat Incidents
Trench Rescue
Confined Space Rescue
Any other incident of significant risk
Command to upgrade IRIC to a full RESCUE Sector ASAP!!
LANDING ZONE
MFD SOP 201.07
Assigned personnel shall have a portable radio, eye
protection, ear protection, high visibility safety vests and helmets.
LZ must be a minimum of 100’ X 100’ for each helicopter.
All spectators, vehicle traffic (including emergency vehicles) must be kept a minimum of 200’ away from LZ.
A 60’ X 60’ touchdown area in the center of the
LZ shall be marked by Turbo Flares.
Check for overhead wires, poles, towers, and
similar obstructions; report any to the pilot.
Approach and departure paths should not pass
over the treatment area or command post.
If LZ is dusty/dry wet down a 200’ X 200’ area
with a hose line before landing.
While the helicopter is on the ground, whether running or not, a “tail guard” shall be stationed 50’-100’ from the tail rotor to keep the area. AT NO TIME SHALL PERSONNEL PASS BEHIND THE BODY OF THE HELICOPTER AND THE TAIL ROTOR.
Radio contact and LZ shall be maintained for 2-3 minutes after departure in case there is an in-flight emergency and the helicopter needs to return to the LZ.
SHOULD ANYTHING BECOME UNSAFE DURING THE APPROACH OF ANY HELICOPTER DURING LANDING LANDING OPERATIONS INSTRUCT THE PILOT TO GO AROUND THREE TIMES.
REHAB SECTOR MFD SOP 202.08 Components: Rehab Truck, Utility Truck, Ambulance, ALS Company Sector Officer (with crew) Initial CISM as needed
Locate Rehab adjacent to Command Post

Start a Rehab Log to track crews in Rehab

SAFETY SECTOR
MFD SOP 201.0SA
The Battalion Safety Officer will assume SAFETY
SECTOR upon arrival.
EMERGENCY TRAFFIC should be used for any
CRITICAL notifications/alerts on the scene
Responsibilities
1. Insure crews are operating safely-all aspects
2. Make sure COMMAND has a safety plan.
3. Operate as the EYES and EARS of Command
4. Identify Structural or Hazardous Conditions.
5. Insure all personnel are wearing PPE.
- Coordinate as needed with other officials.
- Monitor Health and Welfare I Consider Rehab.
- Provide Progress Reports to Command
- Maintain a liaison with Command/Planning.
- Request additional Resources via Command to support Safety Sector if needed.
RESOURCE SECTOR
MFD SOP 202.07
Used on larger incidents to stage personnel, equipment and other commodities.
High Rise Application - Resource Sector is established 2 floors below the fire floor, or other safe environment If on floor 8, radio ID would be Resource 8.
The Resource Sector exists to provide immediate support to operating sectors
Tactical Responsibilities
Maintain an Inventory of equipment, supplies and personnel (similar to lobby/accountability).
Communicate with Command I Branch Officer and coordinate with Lobby and Staging to fill needs
A minimum of one company for every company operating on the fire floor should be maintained in Resource Sector
STAGING SECTOR
MFD SOP 205.06 & 205.06A
AKA Level 2 Staging First arriving unit, except Ladder Companies
Responsibilities
1. Locate an area large enough, but close enough
2. Announce Location to Command and Alarm
3. Coordinate with PD for Traffic Control
4. Apparatus are staged for quick response
5. Track Companies enroute and arrived at Staging
6. Provide inventory when requested by Command
7. Assume a visible position (Sector Vest, Etc.)
If Staging Sector has been assigned to channel 5, arrival notification will be on channel 5
Maintain a 3 and 1 assignment with 1 ambulance
at all times
Notes:
Level 2 Staging is away from incident
Level 1 Staging is at incident site
Use a “Taxi” Service to shuttle crews when appropriate to reduce apparatus congestion.

TRANSPORTATION SECTOR

Responsibilities
Determine an Ambulance Loading Area
Determine Hospital Availability via Alarm
Maintain an account of all patients and destinations
Determine the need for additional ambulances or helicopters
Provide progress reports to Command
Notify Command when all IMMEDIATE patients have been Transported
Fill the Following Positions as Needed Hospital Communications Coordinator Loading Coordinator Charting Officer LZ Sector (will be the initial LZ Contact)
Note:
Members assigned to Transportation will remove
patients from treatment and deliver them to the
ambulance or helicopter.
ALS Members shall work under off-line protocol
and Transportation will coordinate all Patches/CN
with receiving hospitals.
LOBBY SECTOR
