What are the 4 types of messages you can send while bidding?

- Sign-off
- Invitational

What is a Sign-off message?
A
When a player gives a sign-off message, their partner is expected to Pass.

What is an Invitational message?
A
When a player makes an invitational bid, partner may either Pass if they’re satisfied with the level, or continue on with the bidding if their hand warrants it.

What is a Forcing bid?
A
A forcing bid requires the partner to bid again - they must not pass. Typically this is because the Captain doesn’t have enough information to determine How High or Where the bidding should end up.

What is a Marathon bid?
A
A marathon bid forces the bidding to game level. The bidding must not stop until game has been reached.
