Q
What are the differences between a single and twin in the cockpit?
A
- Double throttles, mixtures, prop levers, carb heat (unless fuel injected) and cowl-flaps levers
- Proper quadrant for the engine controls
- Doubled engine instrument or doubled needles on each
- Doubled ammeters or alternator lights
- Doubled starter switches and magneto switches (perhaps separate)
- More complex fuel system selectors with crossfeed
- Rudder trim and perhaps aileron trim as well as the usual elevator trim
- Fire warning lights
- AIS with more lines, colour coding and perhaps a bug or two to highlight reference airspeeds
