What are the differences between a single and twin in the cockpit?

A
  • Double throttles, mixtures, prop levers, carb heat (unless fuel injected) and cowl-flaps levers
  • Proper quadrant for the engine controls
  • Doubled engine instrument or doubled needles on each
  • Doubled ammeters or alternator lights
  • Doubled starter switches and magneto switches (perhaps separate)
  • More complex fuel system selectors with crossfeed
  • Rudder trim and perhaps aileron trim as well as the usual elevator trim
  • Fire warning lights
  • AIS with more lines, colour coding and perhaps a bug or two to highlight reference airspeeds
