Memory Items Flashcards
Windshear actions airborne
TOGA, keep AP on, follow SRS, pitch 17.5 degrees if no FD. Do not change configuration.
Windshear ahead (RED) take off
Before take off - delay or change runway
Take off roll - reject
Airborne - as Windshear warning
Predictive windshear alerts inhibited above 100kts up to 50ft.
Windshear ahead (RED) landing
Go around
Keep AP on
Note: AP disengages if AoA value goes above alpha prot.
Windshear ahead (AMBER)
Delay/divert/choose more suitable runway/use weather radar
Take off - select TOGA thrust, closely monitor airspeed
Landing - config 3, managed speed, use AP.
Windshear actions takeoff
If before V1 only reject if significant airspeed variations.
After V1 - TOGA, rotate, follow SRS or if no FD then 17.5 degrees, increase if necessary.
Windshear detection provided by what? and in what conditions?
Flight augmentation computer
3s after lift off to 1300ft RA
1300ft RA to 50ft RA
At least config 1 selected
Dual engine failure
2.5nm/1000ft
Loss of altitude 8000ft in hold/4000ft in orbit
Target OM at twice normal alt, flap 1
Planned emergency crew calls
2000ft crew, landing positions
500ft brace, brace
Rapid decompression PA
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is the Captain speaking. We have lost cabin pressure and are descending to a lower altitude. Put your oxygen masks on and obey the instructions of the cabin crew.”
Engine failure in cruise actions and strategies?
FCTM - operating techniques Thrust levers MCT Disconnect autothrust Pull Speed according to strategy Pull Heading (off airway? Towards alternate?) Pull Alt for OP DES
Standard strategy
Speed .78/300kts for engine relight
Set REC MAX EO cruise alt from PROG page
Obstacle strategy
Speed green dot
Set drift down ceiling from MCDU PERF CRZ page
Once level and/or clear of obstacles find LRC performance from QRH or FCOM PERF, re-engage autothrust.
Discontinued approach procedure
“Cancel approach”
Disarm any AP/FD mode (eg press APPR or LOC pushbutton)
Select lateral mode (heading or nav)
Select vertical mode (level off or adjust v/s)
Select speed
OEB48
When should you turn off two ADRs?
Anytime, with speed above VLS, if aircraft goes through a continuous nose down pitch rate that cannot be stopped with side stick inputs.
If Alpha Max strip (red) completely hides Alpha prot strip (black/Amber) in stable wings level path.
If Alpha prot strip (black/amber) rapidly moves by more than 30kt during manoeuvres with AP on and speed brakes retracted.
Flying an RNAV arrival what conditions require a go around?
XTK >0.3nm
VDEV >75ft
GPS PRIMARY LOST on BOTH ND’s (switch AP if just one)
NAV ACCURACY DOWNGRADE on BOTH FMGS (as above)
NAV FM/GPS POS DISAGREE on ECAM
Flight parameter call outs?
Bank - angle greater than 7 degrees
Loc or Glide - for more than half dot deflection
In FINAL APP
Crosstrack - more than 0.1nm deviation
V-dev - more than 1/2 dot deflection
VOR
Course - more than 1/2 dot deflection
