Predictive WindshearW/S AHEAD red written on PFDVisual sectors displayed on ND”Windshear Ahead Windshear Ahead”, “Go Around Windshear Ahead” aural warning Available:• Detection below 2300 ft RA, 5NM ahead of aircraft• Alerts displayed on ND below 1500ft RA
• Before Take Off: Delay Take Off• During Take Off: Stop (Warning inhibited above 100kts until 50ft)• Airborne: TOGA thrust, Take Off /Go Around procedure
Reactive Windshear• Excessive speed variation or • WINDSHEAR Red written on PFD and”Windshear Windshear Windshear” aural warningAvailable with at least CONF 1: - 3s after lift-off to 1300ft RA- 1300ft RA to 50ft RA
• Call “Windshear TOGA” and Set TOGA Thrust• During Take off roll:- Below V1, continue unless there is signifiant speed variation and sufficient runway remaining- Above V1, rotate normally no later than 2 000 ft before the end of the runway even with speed below Vr• Airborne:- Follow SRS, if FD is off pitch 17.5° then full back stick if necessary- Keep A/P if already engaged - Keep Flaps and Gear configuration until out of the shear
GPWS Red LightTERRAIN AHEAD Red written on ND”Terrain (Obstacle) ahead Pull up”, “Terrain Terrain Whoop whoop Pull up” or “Whoop whoop Pull up” aural Warning
• Call “Pull Up TOGA”- AP OFF Pull FULL BACK STICK and maintain- Set TOGA Thrust- Retract the Speedbrakes- Bank: . Terrain Terrain, Maintain wings level . Terrain ahead or Obstacle ahead, turn towards black or green area• Recovery at a safe altitude: - V/S Push, AP1 ON, read FMA and correct the modes - AFLOOR Recovery
STALL WARNING AT LIFT-OFF
• Call “Stall TOGA 15”- Set TOGA Thrust and PITCH 15°- Wings Level- When a safe path and safe speed are achieved, if warning is still activated, consider as a spurious alert
STALL RECOVERY
• Call “STALL I have control”- Pitch Nose Down (reduce Thrust if required)- Wings level• Out of stall - Increase Thrust smoothly- Speedbrakes Check retracted- Flight Path Recover smoothly- Below 20 000’ in Clean configuration Select Flaps 1
UNRELIABLE AIRSPEED INDICATION
• Call “Unreliable speed, AP OFF, FDs OFF, A/THR OFF ”- Set PITCH/THRUST (sequence in Climb until abv MSA): . Below Thrust Reduction altitude, 15°/TOGA . Below FL100, 10° / CLB . Above FL100, 5° / CLB- Flaps if Full retract to 3, otherwise keep configuration- Check Speedbrakes retracted- Gear UP• Climb above Minimum Safe Altitude• Unreliable speed indication ADR Check QRH check list: - Level off PITCH/THRUST, A320 4.5°/56% or A321 3°/64% - Isolate faulty ADR comparing ND GPS GS with PFD IAS
TCAS RA
• TA (Traffic Traffic), Call “TCAS I have Control”• RA displayed:- AP&FDs OFF- Follow the orders on the PFD- ATC message, “Dragon 123 TCAS RA” / “Clear of conflict returning to FL…”• On approach for a RA climb perform a Go Around• Recovery: AP1&FD ON, read FMA and correct the modes
EMERGENCY DESCENT
• PF Calls “Emergency descent”- Masks: 100%, Headset on top of the Mask, INT ON Volume pulled, “can you hear me”- PA, “ATTENTION! EMERGENCY DESCENT!” • PF actions:- FCU from right to left . ALT 10,000/9800(3000m) / MEA pull . HDG 30/45° Right pull . Speed Pull S/M PB push- FMA read (Check Thrust Idle)- Extend Speedbrakes- ECAM action / EMER DESCENT Check list- Change OXY flow to normal if no smokes- 2000’ above altitude, retract Speedbrakes- CAB ALT below 10000 ft, remove the mask and reset the mike by closing left door of the mask compartment• PM actions:- Signs ON (Belts&No Smoking)- IGN ON- MAYDAY call, if no contact set XPDR 7700, Request / set QNH• ROD around 6 000 ft/min, 5’/40NM from FL390 to FL100 • MORA displayed on ND is the highest MORA value within a circle of 40NM radius around the aircraft
LOSS OF BRAKING
• Call “Loss of Braking”- Select Max Reverse- Release Brake pedals- A/SKID & N/W STRG OFF- Manual Braking (max 1000 PSI)- Park Brake if manual Brake is inefficient- Use differential braking to steer the aircraft
PILOT INCAPACITATIONCall, no response, Call again and if no response action
• During take-off roll:- Below 100 kts, stop- Above 100 kts and below V1, assess before stopping• Airborne:- Take Control and Push Side stick disconnection P/B more than 40s- PA call “Attention Purser to cockpit please”- Move seat fully Aft /Reclined and Lock the Shoulder Harness- Request Medical Assistance (On board/IOC) - Request any other pilot qualified on the aircraft type- Land as soon as practicable, arrange medical assistance on arrival• Request radar vectoring and plan for a long straight-in approach, prepare the approach and read the checklist earlier than usual
IN FLIGHT ENGINE FAILURE ABOVE THRUST REDUCTION ALTITUDE
• Thrust Lever MCT, A/THR OFF• FCU:- Speed Pull (0.78/300,GD,MMO)- HDG Pull (Terrain, RVSM Contingency, Alternate)- ALT 1 Engine inoperative ceiling Pull: . Standard strategy, PROG page REC MAX EO ALT . Driftdown, PERF CRZ page • ECAM Title “I have Control ECAM actions”
