Q

SURV/TACT TAWS - PULL UP
OR
TACT TAWS - AVOID TERRAIN

Callout?

IMC - Apply procedure immediately
VMC - May be considered a caution with terrain & obstacles clearly in sight
If deemed necessary - take corrective action until alert ceases or safe trajectory is assured.

A

AP - Off
PITCH - Pull Up
THR LVR - TOGA
SPEED BRAKES - Check Retracted
BANK - Wings level/adjust

  • Flight path safe and TAWS warning ceases

PITCH - Reduce
SPEED - Accelerate

  • If speed is above VLSv & vertical speed is positive

FLAPS - Consider retraction

Callout - “PULL UP, TOGA”

Pull up to full backstick if required & maintain
Crew must disregard flashing LVR MCL message until a safe trajectory is assured
Best climb achieved wings level - Turning climb acceptable provided it is safe.

Q

LOSS OF BRAKING
PF VS PM Actions

Callout?

A

THR LVR - Max Reverse (PF)
BRAKE PEDALS - RELEASE
A-SKID - Order Off (PF) & select off (PM)
BRAKE PEDALS - Press to max 1000 PSI (PF)
- IF STILL NO BRAKING

PARK BRAKE - On (PF)

Callout - “LOSS OF BRAKING”

A-Skid off - transfers control of the brakes from the BACS1/2 to EBCU and the mergency mode is activated. As a result the PF must release pedals before selection to avoid dangerous braking action
Note - Braking modes Normal (HYD B) & Alternate (HYD Y) are identical in terms of available functions

EMERGENCY DESCENT
PF 1st & 2nd Loops

Callout?

A

PF First Loop
OXYMASK - On > FL100/Excessive Cab Alt
SEAT BELTS - On
COMMS - Establish
INITATE DESCENT (1st) - Initiate
- ALT - Wind & Pull
- HDG/TRK - Consider Adjusting
- SPEED/MACH - Adjust
SPD BRK - Full
PWR RATINGS - All deselected

NOTE
- IF A/THR NOT ACTIVE -
- ALL THR LVR - Idle

  • STRUCTURAL DAMAGE SUSPECTED - maintain speed at or below when damage occured & maneuver with care

REFINE DESCENT(2nd)
- ALT - Set target ALT (FL100/MEA/MORA)
- HDG/TRK - Consider Adjusting
- SPEED/MACH - Set

ECAM ACTIONS

Callout - “EMERGENCY DESCENT”

PWR ratings are deselected to allow prop NP of 730RPM which prevents oxy container vibration.
Do not exceed speed at which structural damage occured.
FL100 is not a hard rule. consider terrain clearance limitations & how quickly you could descent <Fl100.
