-most pigmented lesions benign
-1/3 malignancies arise from pre existing naevi
RISK
-common in fair skinned people
-related to brief intense sun exposure, and chronic sun exposure
-multiple dysplastic naevus

A
-usually single dysplastic naevus no malignant potential
-but due to concern, size of lesion >complete excisional biopsy
