What is the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA): 1996
Protection of patient’s info and maintaining confidentiality of health records, whether written or electronic, and not sharing info without patient consent.

Expands on the HIPAA enforces security and privacy measures and creates a penalty and a violation system.
What is the Occupational Safety and Health Act: (OSH)
overseen by OSHA and states that employers are obligated to provide a safe working environment for employees.

a federal policy that regulates the manufacture and distribution of controlled substances such as narcotics, depressants, etc. It identifies all of the regulated substances into 1 of 5 categories depending on the potential of abuse.

forbids discrimination based on disabilities.

designed to prevent HCP and organizations from engaging in unethical practices like bribery to influence patient referrals or medical decisions.
