What is the inverse care law?
Availability of good medical care tends to vary inversely with need for it within a population
What are the privileges in law of medical profession? (4)
1) Right to recover fees
2) Right in possession and prescription of certain drugs

What is the main privilege?
Right to do things to people that would otherwise be unlawful
What are the 4 medical pillars?
1) Beneficence
2) Non-maleficence
3) Justice
4) Autonomy
What are the 3 types of justice?
1) Distributive
2) Rights based
3) Legal
What is the duty of candour?
Duty of all doctors to be open and honest with all their patients
What is the doctrine of dual effect?
Could carry on one action, which then results in a secondary effect being carried out (Might not be a desirable outcome) [E.g. drug given causes euthanasia]
When can you prescribe for friends and family?
Only in an emergency
