Salbutamol EPi dexamethasone
Weight and routes of salbutamol
Above or less than 25kg and can be given MDI or Neb
Salbutamol Tx for pt less than 25 kg
MDI - 600mcg, 5-15mins PRN, up to 3
NEB - 2.5mg, 5-15mins PRN, up to 3
Salbutamol Tx for pt more than 25kg
MDI - 800mcg, 5-15mins, 3 times
NED - 5mg, 5-15mins, 3 times
EPi Tx for bronchoconstriction
IM, 0.01mg/kg up to 0.5mg, once
Tx of dexamethasone for bronchoconstriciton
PO/IM/IV, 0.5mg/kg up to 8mg
What meds can you give for croup
EPi and dexamethasone
Conditions to give epi for croup
Between 6 months and 8 years old, HR less than 200bpm, stridor
Tx for croup with EPI for a pt less than 10kg
NEB, 2.5mg once
Tx for croup with EPI for a pt more than 10kg
NEB, 5mg, once
Nitro conditions for cardiac ischemia
Greater than 18 years old, HR 60-159, normotension, prior Hx of nitro
Nitro Tx for NO STEMI
SBP >100, SL, 0.4mg, every 5 mins 6 times
Nitro Tx for STEMI
SBP>100, SL, 0.4mg, every 5 mins up to 3 times
Tx of nitro for ACPE for pt with SBP 100-140
Yes IV, SL, 0.4mg, every 5 mins up to 6 times
Nitro Tx for ACPE for pt with SBP >140 and no IV or Hx
SL, 0.4mg, every 5 mins up to 6 times
