Why was the Marshall plan created
-The Truman doctrine was just an idea I need some sort of plan to support it in order to work
- there was a fear that even Western Europe would fall to communism as the war had ruined their standard of living
- Marshall feared but if you’re up was not rebuild for the people would seek revolutions and communism as a means of creating economic equality
What did Churchill describe Europe as after the war
A rubble heap, a breeding ground of hate
What happened at the Marshall plan
Marshall asked Congress for 17 billion it was originally rejected but the action of Soviets creating satellite states force the congresses hand
they were to worried about communism
the main aid was given in a form of money also machinery and materials to rebuild the economy
