Economic Exclusion Zone

A

UNCLOS defined; 12-200nm from shore. EEEZ supports all national, diplomatic, political, and economic right to offshore territorial water, the continental shelf, and those resources therein.
(Conflict in IndoPacific Region, Ch Dash 9 line).
Does not extend for artificial islands/structures

Describe Composite Warfare C2 Methodology

A

Command by Negation
-Actions of force against an assessed threat are preplanned
-Subordinate commanders take required actions without delay
-Report vs. Request
-Commanders retain power to negate any particular action
(Ask for forgiveness instead of permission, must report more).

A

Allows everyone to be on the same page. Preplanned responses. Subordinates are empowered to act without delay. Commander can say to stop at any point.

Describe Maritime Specific Planning Documents

A

-OPGEN: Distributed by OTC. Policy matters, instructions; similar to MC General Order
-OPTASK: Detailed info for specific guidance within indivual warfare area. Similar to Operations Order
-OPSTAT: Information exchanges and reporting on operational status. Sim. to SitRep.
-DIMs/WIMs: Updates to fill the gap, keep troops apprised, amplifies/modifies previous OPTASKs.
-Preplanned Responses: Clearly defined “if this, then that” important to the commander. Allows for negation.
