Describe the Responsibility of the Joint Force Air Component Commander (JFACC) and how the JFACC is selected by the Joint Force Commander (JFC)
-JFACC is appointed by the JFC
-JFC has the preponderance of assets to be tasked
-Must have the ability to C2 joint air operations
-May be designated as Airspace Control Authority (ACA) and/or Area Air Defense Commander (AADC) to ensure UNITY OF EFFORT
*Can only be USMC, USN, USAF, typically USAF because they have the most assets
Describe the responsibilities of the Area Air Defense Commander (AADC)
-Develops, integrates, and distributes JFC approved Area Air Defense Plan (AADP)
-Coord. DCA ops. with other tactical operations throughout the Joint Operating Area
-Regional/Sector air defense commanders to enhance decentralized execution of DCA (establishes JEZ, FEZ, MEZ).
-Usually is the JFACC
Describe the responsibilities of the Airspace Control Authority (ACA)
-Appointed by the JFC
-Usually is the JFACC
-Coord., integrates, and regulates joint airspace use
-Develops the Airspace Control Plan (ACP) and, after approval by the JFC, promulgates it through the AO
*609 Combined Air Operations Center, could be the Marine Liaison
Identify the sorties the MAGTF commander makes available to the JFC for tasking through the JFACC
-Air Defense
-Long Range Interdiction
-Long Range Reconnaissance
-MAGTF Direct Support
-Excess
**Must fulfill JFACC’s sorties prior to MAGTF sorties
