Q

Slow Flight

A
Objective: To teach the student positive aircraft control at the speed in which any increase in AOA, increase in load factor or reduction in power would result in a stall indication such as a stall horn, or aerodynamic buffet.
Airspeed: 60-65 KIAS +5/-0
Altitude: +/- 50’
Bank: +/- 5 degrees
Heading: +/- 10 degrees

Q

Power Off Stall

A

Objective: To teach the student how to recognize and recover from a stall in the landing configuration.
Airspeed: Establish 400FPM decent at 75 KIAS, recover at Vx then Vy
Altitude: Altitude that allows the maneuver to be completed at or above 3,000’ AGL
Bank: +/- 10 degrees, not to exceed 20 degrees of bank
Heading: +/- 10 degrees

Power On Stall

A

Objective: To teach the student how to recognize and recover from a stall in takeoff/departure configuration
Airspeed: Slow to 80 KIAS, recover at Vx, then Vy
Altitude: An entry altitude that will allow the maneuver to completed at or above 3,000’ AGL
Bank: +/- 10 degrees, not to exceed 20 degrees of bank
Heading: +/- 10 degrees

Accelerated Stall

A

Objective: To demonstrate to the student that the aircraft will stall at a higher airspeed under increased load factor.
Airspeed: Slow to 100 KIAS and then set power to idle
Bank: 45 degrees

Vmc Demo

A

Objective: To teach the student how to recognize and recover from a loss of directional control with the critical engine inoperative
Airspeed: Slow to 100 KIAS, then increase power on operating engine and start to pitch up
Altitude: At or above 4,000’ AGL
Bank: Max 5 degrees
Heading: Recover within 20 degrees of entry heading

S-Turns

A

Objective: To teach the student how to fly a series of S-Turns across a linear ground feature, with semi circles of equal size and shape, accounting for wind effects while maintaining constant altitude and airspeed.
Airspeed: +/- 10KIAS
Altitude: 600’-1,000’ AGL, +/- 100’

Rectangular Course

A

Objective: To teach the student how to fly a ground track equidistant from all sides of a rectangular area on the ground, accounting for wind effects while maintaining constant altitude and airspeed while using both inside and outside references.
Airspeed: +/- 10KIAS
Altitude: 600’-1,000’ AGL, +/- 100’
