  • Rumen - plant material taken to rumen, processed mechanically and exposed to bacteria which break down cellulose
  • Reticulum - passed mixture back to mouth where it’s reprocessed
  • Omasum - further mechanical processing.

A
  • Plantigrade - e.g. Bear and man, place foot flat on ground, slow
  • Digitigrade - e.g. Cats and dogs, increase stride and speed by walking on toes
  • Unguligrade - e.g. Deer and horse, walk on tip toes for speed and distance
  • Streamlined - e.g. Seals, modified limbs as streamline paddles.
