Q

explain the steps of making bread:

A
  • a bread is made using water, yeast, flour, sugar
—> then the bread needs to rise
  • enzymes turn the carbohydrates in the flour into sugars
  • these sugars are used in aerobic respiration
  • then the oxygen runs out
ANAEROBIC respiration starts (fermentation) producing carbon dioxide and ethanol
  • the co2 is trapped as gas bubbles, causing the bread to rise
  • the temperature will change enough to kill the yeast
