Main Rotor (62) Flashcards
What bearings are installed on the MRH?
5 Elastomeric
How is the elastomeric constructed?
Elastomer layers and stainless steel shims
What is the Main Rotor Hub made from?
Titanium with a Graphite strap
What do the elastomeric bearings permit?
- Flap
- lead/lag
- pitch change
What are the tension links made from?
Composite
Where are the flight loads from the MRBs transmitted on the hub?
Via the tension links and elastomeric bearings to the inside of the hub.
What are the picth control levers manufactured from?
Aluminium alloy
How does the flap limiter function?
Centrifugally actuated hinge attached to the blade
How does the droop stop function?
Sliding ring assembly which limits to -1deg when all the blades are supported
During flight the ring can float and permit up to -6deg
How is the MRB tip designed?
With an anhedral 20deg tip
How does the Pitch Change links transmit movement to the MRBs?
They are attached to the control levers.
What is the purpose of the scissor system?
Transmits the drive from the hub to the rotation portions of the swashplate
permitting vertical and tilt movement
What is the purpose of the fluid filled dampers?
Minimise the effects of ground resonance
When you see 100% Nr what is the RPM?
338
