Landing Gear (32) Flashcards
What is the Locking Actuator (LA)?
To ensure that the MLG is locked in extended or retracted position
What strut is fitted to the MLG?
Olio
What is the purpose of the weight Sensing Tranducer?
Measures the weight of the aircraft
How many WOW switches are there?
2
(1 per MLG)
What angles can the NLG centring system operate up to?
+- 115deg
What is the rake angle of the NLG
7 deg
What oil does the anti-shimmy device utilise?
Silicone oil
What is the purpose of the Electrical Retraction Rotary Actuators (ERRA)?
To retract the landing gear
What controls the landing gear extension and retraction?
Landing Gear Control Module (LGCM)
How does the Electrical Retraction Rotary Actuator work?
Internal Brushless DC motor with 1 stage reduction
What is the purpose of the Landing Gear Control Module?
To sequencing the LG extension and retraction
What are the Up-Lock and Down-Lock mechanisms?
Electrical microswitches
What is the normal sequence of extension of the LG?
- Locking actuators retract
- ERRAs move the gear
- Locking actuators engage
How do the Locking Actuators of the LG function?
Electrically held back
Locks with loss of power
How is the LG extended in an emerg? (Double Gen Fail)
Via EMER DOWN
- Energises the locking actuators (unlock)
- Gear decends by gravity (4s)
- De-energises the locking actuators (lock)
