  • main source of energy
  • simple: sugary foods e.g cakes and biscuits.
  • complex: starchy foods e.g bagels, potatoes and pasta.
  • complex carbs are broken down into simple carbs( such as glucose in the stomach).
  • GLYCEMIC INDEX(GI) means slow release of energy.

  • source of energy and provides warmth to body and protects vital organs.
  • SATURATED: animal fats, e.g butter.
  • MONOSATURATED: fatty acids e.g liquids at room temp like oils. Only one
  • UNSATURATED: more than one oils combined together.
