- help to grow and repair tissues
- meat,eggs, milk etc.
- essential amino acids( means we can’t make them in our body so must eat them in your diet)
- non-essential amino acids( means your body can make them)
- 15% of your diet.

A
- main source of energy
- simple: sugary foods e.g cakes and biscuits.
- complex: starchy foods e.g bagels, potatoes and pasta.
- complex carbs are broken down into simple carbs( such as glucose in the stomach).
- GLYCEMIC INDEX(GI) means slow release of energy.

Fats?
A
- source of energy and provides warmth to body and protects vital organs.
- SATURATED: animal fats, e.g butter.
- MONOSATURATED: fatty acids e.g liquids at room temp like oils. Only one
- UNSATURATED: more than one oils combined together.
