What happens at the beginning of Act 3 Scene 1?
Banquo suspects that Macbeth killed Duncan and in his soliloquy momentarily think about his sons becoming King before putting the thoughts out of his head.
What does ‘thou playedst most foully for’t’ show?
It shows how Macbeth has played a game by killing Duncan and also by acting and pretendng to be innocent. ‘Foully’ echoes the witches and how they have manipulated Macbeth. Also he has played foully to become King.
What does Macbeth want to do near the end of Act 3 Scene 1?
He talks to murderers and wants them to murder Banquo and Fleance.
How does Macbeth feel in Act 3 Scene 2?
He is not happy and is worried about dangers. He stiil hasn’t told Lady Macbeth about killing Banquo but he decides he needs to kill more.
What does ‘full of scorpions is my mind’ show?
It shows how dangerous his thoughts are and how they are poisonous like a scorpion.
What does ‘scorched the snake not killed it’ show?
It shows how they have killed Duncan but Macbeth is still desperate for more. Also it shows that Duncan is still there and things will still be there and cause trouble because of what he has done.
