What happens at the start of Act 1 Scene 7?
Macbeth’s soliloquy where he is torn over whether to kill Duncan. He can’t bring himself to say murder
What methods does Lady Macbeth use to try and persuade Macbeth that he should kill Duncan?
She starts off by implying he is a coward and then says that it is manly to be daring and she begins emasculating Macbeth. She then begins to use brutal imagery, showing how she is dangerous and ruthless.
What does ‘plucked my nipple from his boneless gums, and dashed the brains out!’ show?
It is Lady Macbeth talking about her baby which she lost and how she would have killed it if she had promised that she was. She wants to make sure that Macbeth kills Duncan as he was the on who suggested it in the first place.
What is Lady Macbeth going to do to the guards in order to kill Duncan?
Make them drunk so that Macbeth can sneak in and then blame them afterwards.
