- Upper: Economic restructuring ➝ increase in demand for high paying intellectual capital heavy jobs
- Lower:offshoring of manufacturing left workers with primarily labour intensive skills without work

What is the distribution of Health facilities like in Sydney (2)
- East, advantaged population has easy access to numerous large hospital (royal north shore, St Vincent’s, Royal Prince Alfred
- West, disadvantaged only have access to one major hospital: Westmead
Why are Sydney’s Health facilities distributed in the way they are (2)
- It was Cheaper to expand existing smaller hospitals in the East than to Build new ones in the west
- Many Doctors tend to live in the East as it is a more desirable location ➝making western Hospitals less desirable, underfunded and under equipped
What is the distribution of Education facilities like in Sydney
- majority private schools and Universities are located in the East (Knox, Sydney Grammar, UNSW, USYD)
- West have little access to these better learning facilities
