Feeding

A
  • firing cycles starts when the first round of the belt is placed in the tray groove. ( due to the open bolt configuration

Chambering

A
  • the first round is positioned in line with the chamber and is held in position by the cartridge stop and catridge guide pawl

Locking

A
  • when the bolt moves forward and connects to the barrel.

- the locking lever swings forward pushing the bolt forward and locks it to the barrel breech

Firing

A
  • the finally forward movement of the operating rod drives the firing pin through the bolt assy onto the catridge primer firing the round.

Unlocking

A
  • when the round is fired some of the gases are passed through the gas plug regulator into the gas cylinder. moving the Bolt and Operating rod assy to the rear

Extracting

A
  • when the breech is fully unlocked and the bolt assy starts to move rearward, the extractor withdraws the empty cse from the chamber

Ejecting

A
  • when the round is extracted from the chamber the ejector puches the round from the top, the the extractor from the bottom.
  • the round is pushed down from the face of the bolt as soon as it reaches the cartridge ejection port.

Cocking

A
  • as the working parts move rearward the drive spring rod is compressed.
  • if the triggers is held the action starts over and bounce back forward.
  • if the trigger is released the bolt operating rod is held to the rear by the sear notch
